Welcome
12 " dia Burr Elm
I have been turning wood since the mid 1960's, having started at school and then evening classes for 3 years, where I gleaned all I could learn from a master woodturner. Since then I have developed my skills and artistic outlook always trying to do the unusual, something different, unique pieces of work for the special gift or for special occasions.
In 1991 I joined the Ely Guild of Wood Turner, but had to leave when travelling became too much. After Ely I joined the Cambridge Wood Turners, not quite such a distance away from my home.
Designing my own unique pieces I spend at least 2 months of the year developing and working out new pieces, and designs. Looking for unusual pieces of wood as well as trying to obtain different types of timber. I try also to use recycled timber, old beams from barns and other sources. Pieces from old mills that are being renovated. Occasionally obtaining timber from the Fens of Cambridgeshire such as Bog Oak.
